New Zealand - Day 13

We checked out of the Powderhorn Chateau and headed back to the rafting place, River Adventures in Mangaweka for an extremely pleasant hour of rafting on the rangiwikei river with the boss Paul as our guide, whose father got him into rafting over 20 years ago. Paul's son Jack, 2 and daughter Kelsie, 5 are already following in his footsteps. Paul gave us a great commentary on the river area, as well as telling us how he was involved with the Lord of the Rings filming.

From there we drove to Woodville for lunch with Donna and Richie, Jen's bosses wife and 1 year old son who are in NZ visiting family. We had a huge fish and chips lunch and took photos to send back to Harry.

Finally it was a tiring drive down to Wellington over mountain roads with extreme switchbacks, in the dark, in the rain with insane truck drivers passing us, followed by a desperate hunt for a cheap motel. We checked into the Capital View Motel after 8pm and crashed for the night.
